The Oswego County Humane Society will hold its tenth annual “Chasing & Fetching Ball (a/k/a Golf) Tournament on Friday, July 16th starting at 9 am at the Greenview Country Club in West Monroe. The event, in captain and crew format, includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, coffee and donuts, lunch and beverages on the course and a chicken barbecue dinner. There will also be a skins game, a $10,000 hole in one prize, a putting contest, cash prizes for first place teams, raffles and a silent and live auction. The cost per player is $100 and there is a discount for players over age 60.

“The tournament is a lot of fun. We get good golfers, not so good golfers, and then people like me who just laugh the whole time,” says Karen Hoffman, President of the Humane Society. “So we hope that lots of people join in the fun in our tenth year of doing this. Plus, in these hard times, we are inundated with homeless animals and we really need the revenue that the tournament generates to fund our programs.”

The Humane Society is also accepting major sponsorships and tee and green sponsorships from local businesses, and donations to the tournament auction.

Players and sponsors can sign up online or download mail-in forms at the OCHS web site at www.oswegohumane.org . For more information, call the Oswego County Humane Society at 315-207-1070 or Dan Capella, at 343-2959, or Bill Kerfien at 343-0252.
