The North East Ice Tour will have their second stop of the 2011 season at New York’s Oneida Lake, near on January 30th.
The professional style ice fishing tournament will feature a payout of $7500.00 based on a full field of seventy five entrants. Competitors will be fishing for a limit of twelve panfish; perch, crappies and bluegills, with awards being based of the heaviest total weight. Anglers may compete as a team or as individuals.
Tournament director Byron Eckardt states that this may well be one of the most popular stops on the tournament trail, which consists of seven tournaments in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Vermont.
Says Byron; a combination of world class fishing, ample lodging and a very fisher friendly community make the Oneida Lake area a great tournament location.
A mandatory Registration and Rules meeting will be held at the nearby Gander Mountain the evening prior to the tournament beginning at 4:15pm. Anglers may register at the registration meeting provided the field in not full, pre-registration is highly recommended.
Anglers will be launching out of Big Bay Marina and fishing the West end of the lake.
A free ice fishing seminar, Pan Fishing, The Basics And Beyond, will be held Saturday, January 29th at 10am at the Gander Mountain store.
