Ignazio ‘Fran’ Alfieri

OSWEGO, NY – Ignazio “Fran” Alfieri, was promoted Friday January 22, 2016, from this life after a long, courageous fight.

Ignazio ‘Fran’ Alfieri

Ignazio ‘Fran’ Alfieri

He was born in Oswego, to the late Angelina (Genova) and Frank Alfieri.

He was a resident of Oswego for most of his life where he worked as a pipefitter for Local 73.

He retired in 1990.

Fran was a loving husband and father who enjoyed “shooting the breeze” with his family and friends, watching SU basketball, the Yankees and NASCAR.

Most of all, he loved his dachshunds.

Fran is survived by his loving wife, Louise (Schneider) Alfieri; children, Susanne Alfieri, Michael Alfieri and Joseph (Beth Kesler) Alfieri; a grandson, Joey Alfieri; a sister, Rose Murabito; two sisters-in-law, Carol Alfieri and Ann Hoefer; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Emanuel Alfieri.

At his request, there will be no calling hours.

A Catholic Mass of celebration will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 27, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Minetto.

Donations may be made in his name to Friends of Oswego County Hospice, without whose help he wouldn’t have has his last wish of dying at home.

Arrangements are in care of Nelson Funeral Home.

I just loved this man. I took care of him, and at times, he took care of me, for years at Lakeside Heart Center. Peace to you Fran and your loving family. I missed you when I moved, I surely miss you much more now. With love and affection , Colette Badger
