FULTON, NY – This Saturday, Ingles Performance and VP Small Engines Fuels presents a night of fast, affordable, family, fun, racing on the Route 57 ‘High Banks.’
On the exciting race card will be the Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman, A-Verdi Storage Containers 305 Sprints, Hilton’s Automotive Four Cylinders and the ladies race.
We had a great turnout for last season’s ladies race. If you’re plan on participating sign in with Dane Keller at the pit shack.
Last week in the Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modifieds Chris Hile put his family owned team in victory lane in front of a cheering crowd. For Hile it was his second career big block modified win at the speedway.
Coming into last Saturday, Larry Wight and Jimmy Phelps were in a tight point’s race sitting in the top-two spots. In the 35-lap feature Wight had power steering issues ending his feature run. Jimmy Phelps was involved in a multicar accident that sent his car to the pits for the night.
Including this Saturday there are just three point races left to decide the 2014 track champions.
Top-Five in the Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modifieds – Larry Wight (587) – Billy Decker (572) – Jimmy Phelps (551) – Pat Ward (528) – Rob Bellinger (524).
Tony Finch II shook off some recent bad luck by winning the 25-Lap SUNY Canton Sportsman feature. Finch held off a last lap furious challenge from Jeremy Dygert for his first win of the season. Ron Davis III was able to get by Dygert on the final corner to finish second and take the points lead.
Beth Schneider came into last Saturday as the point’s leader. During the feature she dropped out early with what would be discovered during the week as water in the racing fuel.
Top-Five in the SUNY Canton Points – Ron Davis III (613) – Mike Button (592) – Beth Schneider (590) – Tony Finch II (577) – Corey Barker (525).
The ‘Mongoose’ AJ kingsley did something in the NAPA Late Models that not many have done, beat Tim Sears Jr. when he is in the lead during a feature. Kingsley not only got by Sears, he dominated the race once in the lead. Over the second half of the season Kingsley is the hottest driver in the division. For the season he has 5 feature wins, 11 top fives, 13 top tens in 13 starts.
Top five in the NAPA Late Models – AJ Kingsley (712) – Tim Sears Jr. (710) – Brandon Ford (546) – Johnny Hill (474) – Dave Talbot (468).
In the A-Verdi Storage Containers 305 Sprints John Cunningham got back on the winning track by winning his sixth feature by out running Sprint Car veteran Gordy Button.
In the 15-Lap E&V Energy Novice Sportsman feature, Trevor Lindsey looked to be heading to a dominate win. In the late going Shannon Pitcher without the aid of a caution to tighten the field up ran Lindsey down from almost a straightaway behind for the impressive win.
After winning his 70th career Brewerton Speedway four cylinder feature on Friday, Powelczyk came back Saturday night winning his sixth feature of the year at the Fulton Speedway.
Top Five in the Hilton’s Automotive Four Cylinders- Chuck Powelczyk (578) – Justin Buske (538) – Skip DeGroff (526) – Mark Johnston (496) – Keith Zirbel (494).
