Interact Club Makes and Donates Blankets to Oswego Hospital Maternity Center

Newborns at Oswego Hospital will go home with a warm fleece blanket thanks to the creativity of students who belong to Oswego High School’s Interact Club.

Club Advisor Warren Shaw explained that this project kicks off the club’s activities for the year and provides a way for the kids to get to know one another and build team work at the beginning of the school year.

The school club is affiliated with the two Oswego Rotary clubs.

Through this project, the students raised money for the necessary blanket supplies before making some 30 blankets themselves.

Pictured along with the students at left are Bobbi Carr, of the hospital’s maternity department and Oswego Health Senior Accountant Cynthia Tascarella, who is also the secretary/treasurer of the Sunrise Rotary Club.

Also in the photo is Advisor Shaw.

Oswego Hospital’s maternity center offers large, attractive, private labor and delivery rooms with the latest technology. Each labor and delivery room also has its own bathroom with a large soaking tub.

There are also 12 postpartum rooms, which have their own bathrooms, as well as a cheery, homelike atmosphere.

The department is staffed by a caring and knowledgeable staff.

The unit is staffed 24 hours a day with either an obstetrician or certified nurse midwife with physician collaboration and with neonatal nurse practitioners for immediate newborn care.
