James Anthony Cardinali, 62

FULTON, NY – James Anthony Cardinali, 62, of Hannibal, formerly of Fulton, died Thursday February 23, 2012.

He was born in Fulton and graduated from G. Ray Bodley High School in 1968.

Jim was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He retired from New Process Gear in 2000 after 30 years of service.

Jimmy played guitar in local bands, Legacy, Midnight Blue, Tempest and was currently in the band, Backflash.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Susan Cardinali; and by his brother, Donald Cardinali, who died March 24, 2007.

Jim is survived by four sons, Mark (Sonya) Cardinali, Jon (Debbie) Cardinali and Scott (Tammy) Cardinali all of Hannibal and Michael Cardinali of Orlando, Florida; his former wife, Sharon Cardinali of Auburn; stepmother, Rose Cardinali of Baldwinsville; eight grandchildren, Kayla, Zachary, Cameron, Corey, McKenzie and Tyler Cardinali, Sgt. Todd Scruton and Beth Shortsleve.

A small gathering for family and friends will be held on Sunday from noon to 7 p.m. at the Hannibal American Legion Prior Stock Post, 226 Rochester St., Hannibal.

    So sorry to hear about Jimmy, my prayers and thoughts are with the family.. I remember playing music with Jimmy many years ago.
