OSWEGO, NY – James F. Muldoon, 69, a resident of 9481 North 111th Ave. in Sun City, Ariz., died July 16, 2009, after a brief illness.
He was born in Oswego and was the son of the late James and Grace Rasbeck (LaVere) Muldoon.
Jim was a former resident of Oswego and retired from Niagara Mohawk where he worked for many years.
JimÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s greatest love was racing and was a familiar face at Oswego Speedway.
He was a driver, a mechanic, and a car owner for more than 20 years.
He moved to Arizona in 1995.
Jim is survived by his wife, Virginia Miller Muldoon of Sun City; four daughters, Michelle (Bobby) Barzee of Baldwinsville, Beth (Rick) Piazza of Oswego, Lisa (Mike) Gibson of Fulton and Maureen (John) Cianfarano of Oswego; two sons, Michael (Carolyn) Muldoon of Baldwinsville and Shawn (Suzie) Muldoon of Oswego; one stepson, Shane (Patricia) Miller of Albany; two sisters, Sherry (Bill) Hill of Oswego and Linda (Norman) Osborne of San Diego; 14 grandchildren, Nicole Barzee, Nicholas Barzee, Nerissa Barzee, Shannon Muldoon, Michael Muldoon, Ricky Piazza, Lauren Kaylor, Sarese Gibson, Shane Gibson, Skyler Gibson, Dominic Cianfarano, Taylar Cianfarano, Collin Cianfarano, Mikayla Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Patricia Simons Muldoon, who died Aug. 29, 1987.
Calling hours will be Aug. 3, from 4-7 p.m. at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.
Funeral services will be Aug. 4, at 11 a.m. at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
Burial will be at St. PeterÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Cemetery.
