</p>James G. “Cricket” Burger, 56Oswego – James G. “Cricket” Burger, 56, a resident of Mount Pleasant Road in the Town of Volney, passed away Monday, at the Oswego Hospital, after a valiant battle with cancer.

Mr. Burger was born in Oswego, and was a life resident of the area. He was the son of James A. Burger and the late Laura (Smith) Burger.

He had been employed at the Alcan and Novelis Corporations in Oswego for the past 28 years.

Mr. Burger was an avid hunter, and loved sports. He was an enthusiastic New York Yankees fan. He was a devoted son, brother, and father.

He was a kind and generous man to all who knew him. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his father, James A. Burger of Oswego; 2 daughters, Tammy (Ron) Wicks of Canandaigua, and Tina (James) Fiori of Phelps; a son, James R. Burger of Oswego; 2 brothers, John (Sharon) Burger of Oswego, and Richard (Julie) Burger of Oswego; 4 sisters, Lauretta (Timothy) Allen of Oswego, Kathy (Earl) Swartz of Harrisburg, PA, Fran (Beryl) Broadwell of Scriba, and Tina (Stephen) Flack of Oswego; 5 grandchildren, Julia, Michael, Nicholas, Jasmine, and Noah; his fiancé, Linda Halstead of Volney; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 9:30am Friday, in St. Mary’s Church.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00pm Thursday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second St. in Oswego.
