James ‘Jamie’ Grant, 64


OSWEGO, NY – James E. Grant, 64, a resident of Minetto, passed away on Sunday December 16, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse after a brief illness.

Born on August 14, 1948, in Seattle, he was a son of the late Dr. James and Frances (Durant) Grant.

He was employed with the Oswego Industries for more than 10 years.

Surviving are his mother, Connie Grant of Oswego; his two sisters, Lisa Grant (Joseph) Munger of Fulton and Bridget Grant of Rochester; two brothers, Tim Grant of Newburyport, Massachusetts and Brian (Carolyn) Grant of Oswego; two nieces, Elaina Heagerty of New York City and Kaitlyn Grant of Oswego; two nephews, Brandon Grant of Oswego and Timothy “TJ” Grant of Newburyport, Massachusetts.

He was predeceased by his nephew, Shamus Heagerty.

Jamie was known for his great sense of humor and always making everyone around him smile.

He loved his music and was one of Elvis’ biggest fans.

Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.

There are no calling hours.

Entombment will be in All Saints’ Mausoleum.

Contributions in Jamie’s name may be made to a charity of choice.

Arrangements are in care of the Dowdle Funeral Home.

    Jamie was a pleasure to have known the past couple years, he always made me laugh & I loved listening to his stories & watching him dance . He will be missed, RIP “my Ole friend” Love from all Your care staff At OI!!

    We will miss his smiling face and dancing. Jamie was a true gentleman and I feel blessed to have known him.
