OSWEGO, NY – James Michael Parker Sr., 72, a long-time resident of Oswego, passed away on Thursday November 6, 2014, at Oswego Hospital.
Mike was born in Plattsburgh, NY, the son of the late George and Mary (McDermott) Parker.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Reynolds Parker.
He is survived by his sons, James Michael Parker Jr. of Middletown, Conn., and Christopher Parker of Oswego; their wives, Heather Parker and Keri Parker; and four adoring grandchildren: Jude, Jade, Charlotte and Stella Parker.
He is also survived by his oldest brother, Robert Parker and his wife, Madelyn, of Saranac, NY.
Mike served as city assessor for the city of Oswego for several years.
In addition, he served on the boards of the Oswego Credit Union and Riverside Cemetery.
Most importantly, he was a long-standing member of St. Stephen’s Church, where he served as a Eucharistic minister and a business administrator.
Calling hours will be from 2 – 5 p.m. at Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home in Oswego on Sunday, November 9.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 10, at St. Stephen’s Church in Oswego.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
