FULTON, NY – Janice G. “Jan” Lockwood, 90, of Hannibal, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday July 5, 2013, in Oswego, NY.
Jan graduated from Hannibal High School in 1941 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946 where she served as a Navy WAVE.
She and her husband, Harry, moved to Endwell, NY, where she enjoyed spending time with friends and family and raising their son, Jon.
Jan worked at Gault Chevrolet as a bookkeeper until her retirement in the early 1990s.
She was extremely proud of her military service and was a charter member and editor for the Salt City Blues Unit 90 WAVES, Syracuse, NY.
Jan was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Harry K. Lockwood, in 2000; and by her siblings, Gordon, Katherine, Caroline and Bill.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jon D. and Sharon Lockwood of Darnestown, Md.; two grandchildren, Mariah and Patrick; as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held July 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton, with services immediately following.
Burial, with military honors, will be held at Hannibal Village Cemetery in a private ceremony.
