OSWEGO, NY – Jean C. Perkins, 91, died on Saturday January 16, 2016, at St. Luke’s Health Facility where she was a resident.
Born May 30, 1924, to Bertress A. Case and Mildred C. Case, she was one of two children.
She was a life-long resident of Fruit Valley where she lived for more than 70 years.
A graduate of Oswego schools, she later attended Rochester Business Institute and after graduating, worked for Ball and Wilson Auto, where she met her spouse, Robert Q. Perkins.
He succumbed in October 2014.
An active member of West Baptist Church, she worked on several committees and projects and was also a Sunday School teacher.
She and her husband owned and operated Remember When Antiques for several years.
Besides being an avid antique collector, she also enjoyed sewing and cooking.
She was predeceased by her sister, Harriett Potter; her husband; and a grandson, Christopher R. Perkins who died in 2005.
She leaves three children, Dr. Robert Perkins of Oswego, Constance (Perkins) Fischer of Cicero, NY, and Cynthia (Perkins) Wilson of Del Mar, Calif.
Additionally, she leaves six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 – 4 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home in Oswego.
Calling hours will be followed by the funeral service at 4 p.m.
Burial will be at Rural Cemetery in the spring.
