Joan A. Talamo, 88, a resident of Liberty St. Oswego, passed away January 10, 2011 at the Oswego Hospital.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Ignazio and Josephine (DeStephano) Butera.
She attended Oswego High School. She worked for Breneman’s Shade Cloth Factory, Nestles and as a crossing guard.
Joan was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church and member of its St. Anne’s Society.
Surviving are two sons, Anthony R. (Virginia) Talamo of Texas and Joseph T. (Carleen) Talamo of Mexico, NY; a sister, Rose Butera of Oswego; five grandchildren, Brian, Erin, Virginia, Catherine and Teresa Talamo; one great-granddaughter, Angela.
She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony J. Talamo in 1998.
Funeral Services will be held 10a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Church. Entombment will be in All-Saints Mausoleum, St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 4-7p.m. Thursday at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
