Born June 19, 1924, Joe Krisiak passed away peacefully in the company of his family at home in Hamburg, NY on July 19, 2009. Joe was married to his beloved Martha (nee Terpak; predeceased) for 56 years.
He has 3 sons Joe (Mary Lou), Steve (Sue) and Jeff (Miriam), 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Joe came from a family of 5 brothers and a sister, all predeceased except for his younger brother Frankie.
Joe started work as a coal miner, ultimately moving to Buffalo taking employment as an autoworker at Ford, a position he retired from after 30 years. Joe took great pride in his service to our country as a Sea Bee during WWII from 1944 to 1946. He fought and built in Leyte Gulf in the Philippines.
He was a committed husband and father. He loved the outdoors; his passions were fishing, hunting and working on his 75 acre home in Allegany County. He and Martha were avid Bingo enthusiasts making the rounds at popular local Bingos.
Funeral Services will be held 11a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Sacred Church in Cuba, NY.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Friendship, NY.
Calling hours will be held 9-10:30am. Thursday prior to the service at McIntosh Funeral Home, 24 Genesee Parkway, Cuba, NY 14727.
