OSWEGO, NY – John “Andy” C. Anderson IV, 77, peacefully passed away Sunday December 20, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.

A resident of the town of Oswego, NY, he was born on March 21, 1938, a son of the late John and Grace Anderson.

While his father was stationed in Germany, Andy graduated from Kaiserslautern High School, which was a defense based international school.

He then served three years in the United States Army.

Andy went on to complete his apprenticeship with IBEW local 328.

He was very passionate about his trade and worked on major projects in his field for 25 years, until his retirement in 1992.

Andy was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors any opportunity he got.

Trips to the Adirondacks with friends and spending time with his family and four grandchildren were among his passions.

He was a member of the Elks Club and parishioner of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Andy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Diment Anderson; two sons, John C. Anderson V of Oswego and Michael (Debbie) Anderson of Oswego; one sister, Jo Anne (Rothhaar) Werner,of Pirmasens, Germany; one brother, Robert (Susan) Anderson, of Fulton, NY; four grandchildren, Emily, Kaitlyn, Andrew and Kathleen; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Church.

Burial will be in Oswego Town Rural Cemetery.

Calling hour will be held 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W.  Albany St., Oswego.
