  1. John Bump Woods was one of the nicest persons I have met in my life. I knew him when I was just na kid in 1939 and he never changed. Later in life when I played golf with him and he always beat me I never felt bad about it because like his late friend Ed Lisk he was always a gentlemen about it and made you enjoy the day.

  2. I met John later in his life when I was employed at Tucker cCaddillac in Oswego. He was a customer at the dealership. As I got to know him we always discussed our golf games . He was generous enough to invite me to play at the Oswego Country Club. The day we played we walked all 18 holes and carried our bags.I was amazed at how well he played. And that he walked the course with ease at his age. He was a gentleman and I am glad I had the privelage to know him!
