FULTON, NY – John F. Garvey 89, of Fulton, died Saturday May 30, 2015, at his home after a short illness.
Mr. Garvey was born in Manhattan, the son of the late John and Mary (Cox) Garvey.
He had been a resident of Fulton since 1994.
He was a financial controller for Sears-Roebuck in New York City and J.C. Penney in New York City.
Mr. Garvey served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Garvey, in 2004.
Mr. Garvey is survived by his children, Dianne Garvey of Massachusetts, John Garvey of Fulton, Daniel (Patricia) Garvey of New Jersey and Stephen (Amy) Garvey of Fulton.
He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Gaff; and grandchildren Kyla, Tara, Jake, Ben and Sara.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. Second St S., Fulton.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.
