John P. McCadden, 75, of Cato, passed away quietly on Friday, July 25, 2008 at St. JosephÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s Hospital in Syracuse.
John ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œJackÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â was born on July 1, 1933, the son of William and Ethel McCadden. He graduated from Cato High School in 1951. Following graduation John served four years in the Navy from 1952 to 1956.Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â John was a truck driver working for many local companies until his retirement. He was a member of American Legion Post 911, Cato and the Mahogany Ridge Hunting Club.
John was predeceased by his wife, Barbara McCadden, who died in 2007; a daughter, Donna Hapeman, who died in 2002; his son, William H. McCadden, who died in 1996; his step son, Spencer R. Cole, Jr., who died in 1972 and by siblings, Raymond McCadden, Leona Farron, William McCadden and Sheila Colbert.
Surviving: a son, John J. (Kathleen) McCadden; daughters, Deborah (Stan) Joshanski, Patricia (Frank) Pinckney, Maureen (Larry) Eaton and Tina (Joe) Trombley; his sister, Lois (Jim) OÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢Neil; his brother, Robert (Joan) McCadden; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Foster Funeral Home, Hannibal. Burial will be at Cato Union Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal.
