OSWEGO, NY – John R. Lambo, 73, of Oswego, died Saturday January 9, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse.
Born in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Sgt. John and Celia (Reynolds) Lambo.
He was a US veteran.
John worked at Hammermill for 10 years. He then worked for the Painters’ Local 38 and later as a Boilermaker for the Local #175.
He enjoyed fishing, taking pictures, online poker and getting morning coffee with his McDonald’s club.
He was a member of the VFW #5885.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Hilda (Norton) Lambo; two sons, Robert Lambo of Liverpool and Richard (Kimberly) Lambo of Oswego; a sister, Rose Deming of Oswego; three grandchildren, Jessica Lambo, Amber Lambo and Nichole Lambo; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Kurt Davis, David “Butch” Lambo and Robert Brannigan.
Calling hours will be held 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
Services will be held privately.
