Johnson Hall Annual Bidding Bonanza to Raise Funds for Scholarships

OSWEGO, NY – The casino-themed 16th Annual Johnson Hall Bidding Bonanza asks the question “Will you go all in?” to win some of the fabulous prizes, services and products graciously donated by the surrounding communities.

More than 100 items are up for grabs for audience members to bid on. Highlighted items include an autographed Macklemore CD, signed hockey stick and banner from the SUNYAC champion and NCAA finalist Laker ice hockey team, Kindle Fire HD and $150 Steve Madden gift card to name a few.

The event will be held on March 27 in the Sheldon Hall Ballroom.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

This event is an extension of Johnson Hall’s First Year Residential Experience program, which is designed to support and encourage incoming freshmen in their transition to college life.

The FYRE program encourages residents to improve personally and professionally and strongly encourages active involvement on campus and in the Oswego community.

Residence hall staff and residents alike have come together to make this event not only successful, but enjoyable and exciting for attendees.

The primary goals of the auction are to put on a fun event for the campus as well as the Oswego community, raise money for staff training and development, and most importantly, raise money to fund the Johnson Hall Scholarship Fund to award deserving students currently enrolled in the FYRE program.

The Johnson Hall staff has been hard at work for months to make the Bidding Bonanza a success and hopes to exceed last year’s total of more than $4,000.

“Our staff works hard on this so we can continue providing a great first year program. It’s definitely one of the highlights of our year and really shows off what our staff can do. It’s great to see the community get involved too,” said Kelly Giese, the residence hall director of Johnson Hall.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the Johnson Hall Scholarship, which will be awarded to a few current upstanding residents, as well as staff development programs for the resident mentors of Johnson Hall.

Bidding Bonanza promises to be a fun and exciting event for all attendees.

Come join the fun on March 27 in the Sheldon Hall Ballroom for an evening of bidding for a great cause.
