OSWEGO, NY – The trees are about to be celebrated all over the city on Saturday.
Many groups are cleaning up the lake and river walkways, and the Oswego Tree Stewards with the city employees are planting a Honey Locust in Veterans’ Park on the river and a white oak at the Fort Oswego memorial at West First and Lake streets.
The mayor will be at the 10 a.m. planting by the river.
The Oswego Tree Stewards is starting its seasonal trimming and pruning sessions of city trees and wish to welcome any people who would like to help by joining the group.
Each Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon the group provides intensive and expert tree care for the city street trees.
They’ll be at Liberty and Oneida this Saturday; come watch, learn and join.
