Join the Fulton ‘Stuff-A-Bus’ Campaign to Get Students Geared Up for School

‘Stuff-A-Bus’ is a community-wide campaign that aims to relieve the financial stress for local families by getting students prepared with the gear they will need for back-to-school.

The Fulton City School District Teachers’ Association, in cooperation with the United Way of Oswego County, coordinates the initiative for the Fulton community, which in 2013 provided 211 students with essential back-to-school supplies.

To support the annual initiative the FTA coordinates staff fundraisers and also works with local businesses, organizations and individual donors to collect school supplies and backpacks. To join this year’s ‘Stuff-A-Bus’ campaign, the FTA is looking for donations of the following items: backpacks, pencils, pens, crayons, calculators, glue sticks, highlighters, notepaper, notepads, folders, and binders.

Donations will be accepted throughout the summer at every school building in school district and at the Fulton Education Center.

Or, bring donations to a county-wide collection day which is slated to take place from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on August 20 at the Walmart SuperCenter (1818 State Route 3, Fulton) and Kinney Drugs (115 Oneida St., Fulton). Golden Sun Bus Service will be donating bus service for this collection day, look for a Golden Sun Bus at each location and help fill the bus with essential back-to-school supplies.

The Fulton City School District ‘Stuff-A-Bus’ school supply distribution will take place on August 22, starting at 9 a.m. at Fairgrieve Elementary School.

Families wishing to obtain school supplies at the distribution on August 22 must bring a 2014 Fulton City School District Report Card with them.
