The Phoenix Central School District Transportation Department will be joining the 10th Annual Regional Awareness Program for Young Drivers event on March 26 at SUNY Oswego.
This year’s program is centered on distracted driving and is being held in conjunction with the New York State University Police at Oswego, the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee and Oswego County BOCES.
Keynote speaker for the evening will be Jacy Good, the sole survivor in a vehicle hit by a distracted driver on her college graduation day.
Phoenix CSD Transportation Staff and students Zoe Heckert, Ella Heckert, and Clarissa Lange will be talking to attendees at the program about essential bus safety tips and guidelines.
The RAP program is open to teen drivers, future teen drivers and their parents.
The program will take place in the ballroom of Hewitt Union and will begin at 7 p.m.
Admission is free and free parking for the event is available in campus lots 18 and 32.
