Joseph A. Brancato, 80, a resident of Simeon Dewitt Apt. Oswego, passed away June 25, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of Onofrio and Santa (Scandura) Brancato.
Joe was a US Navy veteran who served during the Korean War.
He was employed as an Electrician for Armstrong World Industries for 43 years.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a tremendous soldier for Christ. A man of unshakable faith and integrity.
Joe was admired and respected by all those whose lives he touched.
Surviving are his wife, Janet (Blackburn) Brancato; three daughters, Joann (Bill) Jacquin and Susan (Timothy) Beougher, both of Ohio; Annette (Anthony) DiPierro of Southwest Oswego; three sons, Joseph (Jamie) Brancato, Christopher (Patty) Brancato, both of Oswego; John Brancato of Arizona; one brother, Murphy (Patricia) Brancato of Oswego; a sister-in-law Carol Brancato of Rochester; a sister Mary D’Amico of Florida; eighteen grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Martin Brancato.
Funeral Services will be held 11a.m. Thursday, at the New Covenant Community Church, 51 East Oneida St. Oswego.
Calling hours will be held 4-7p.m. Wednesday, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
