Joseph I. ‘Red’ Cavallaro

FULTON, NY – Long-time Fulton resident Joseph I. “Red” Cavallaro, 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 25, 2018, at the Francis House in Syracuse.

He was born October 6, 1942, to the late Ignazio George and Salastin “Sally” Calabria Cavallaro.

He learned the barber trade from his uncle while still in high school and continued to enjoy this profession until recently.

Joe is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Jeff Desko; grandsons, Ethan and David Desko, all of Camillus; son, Bill (Mayari) Cavallaro; grandson, Carlos Cavallaro; and three step-grandchildren, all of North Carolina; long-time dear friend, Carmella Demperio of Fulton; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, January 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a service to immediately follow at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.

In lieu of flowers, Joe’s family encourages donations be made to the Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208 or Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
