Joseph Masuicca

Joseph Masuicca, 80; of Oswego died Wednesday at St. Luke Health Services after a short illness.

He was born in Oswego to the late Nazarno and Nancy (Ricci) Masuicca. He has remained a lifetime resident of Oswego. Mr. Masuicca was a United States Veteran having served in the Navy from 1952 to 1954. He retired after 41 years with National Grid as a Chief Gas Mechanic.

Mr. Masuicca was a life member of the Oswego BPO Elks, a member of the LST Association, and past president of the Oswego Utility Employee Association. He enjoyed golfing, gardening and bowling.

Mr. Masuicca was pre-deceased by his wife Cosimina Masuicca in April 2011. He was also pre-deceased by his siblings: Francis, Thomas, and John Masuicca, Anna Talamo, and Angeline Rupert.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 8:30 AM Monday in the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home and 9:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Oswego where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Greg Kreinheder. Entombment will be held in All Saint’s Mausoleum, St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego. Calling hours will be conducted 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th St. Oswego.

    What a wonderful person Joe was. Always a smile and a good word. He will be missed.
