Joseph R. Sliva, 94; of Fulton died Saturday at St. Luke Health Services, Oswego.
He was born in Fulton to the late Thomas and Sophie (Gondak) Sliva. He was a United States World War II Veteran having served in the Army from 1941 to 1945.
Mr. Sliva retired from Sealright Co., Fulton in 1982. He was a lifetime member of the Fulton Polish Home and he enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Sliva was pre-deceased by his wife Doris Sliva in 1994 and his brother Ted Sliva. He is survived by his children Thomas (Sara) Sliva of Fulton, John (Debbie) Sliva of Glens Falls, NY, Martin (Lauren) Sliva of Fulton and Joseph (Kathy) Sliva of Fulton, 6 grandchildren: Tammy Wood, Andrea Sliva, John-Paul Sliva, Angela Sliva, Peter Sliva, Nicholas Sliva; 4 step-grandchildren: Michael Commisso, Patricia McIntyre, Deborah Taft, John Lachut, 1 great grandson: Thomas Wood and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 9:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home and 9:30 AM at Holy Trinity Church, Fulton where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Eric Harer. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton. Calling hours will be conducted 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton.
