Josephine ‘Josie’ Niegos


FULTON, NY – Josephine “Josie” Niegos, 95, of Fulton, passed away Wednesday October 17, 2012.

Josephine was born in Fulton to the late Frank and Irene (Ciula) Safader and remained as a life resident.

She retired from General Electric after 25 years of service and had previously worked at the American Woolen Mill in Fulton.

She was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church in Fulton where she a past president of the St. Michael’s Altar Rosary Society.

Josephine was a member of the Fulton Polish Home Ladies Auxiliary where she was a past president.

Josephine was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Niegos, who died in 1995; sisters, Sophie Sinicki and Mary Shand, who died in 2007.

Surviving: children, Elaine (Bill) Conners, Geraldine Gilliland and Richard (Ofelia) Niegos all of Fulton; grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A calling hour will be held 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with a 10 a.m.  Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at the church, 309 Buffalo St., Fulton.

Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.
