Julian Thomas Ross, 10

OSWEGO, NY – Julian Thomas Ross, 10, came into our lives on May 15, 2005, and was called home on August 8, 2015.

Julian Thomas Ross

Julian Thomas Ross

He was an incredible person who cared more about others and less about himself.

Julian loved everyone from the homeless to the famous. He saw through things … Julian saw you.

Most will comment and remember him because of his cancer.

Instead, Julian would have wanted you to get involved so another child doesn’t have to suffer.

Many will cry because of his suffering, but Julian would tell you of his blessings and joys.

Julian taught us more than we could ever have taught him … Live life, love everyone, help others.

That was Julian’s World.

If we all lived the way he did, what a wonderful world this would be.

He is survived by his parents, Steven Ross and Kristi Thompson; two brothers, Alexander Thompson and Brayden Ross; paternal grandparents Delbert Ross and Rosemary Ross; maternal grandparents Paula and Donald Thompson; maternal great-grandmother Evelyn Bresnahan; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Church, Oswego.

Calling hours will be held 2-7 p.m. Wednesday, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.

Julian, I never got to know you personally, but asked your Mom at one of the fund raisers how you were doing. Just looking in those precious eyes when you family posted updates made me realize that you were a special young man. I prayed often for your healing and for a miracle. God finally decided it was His will for you to come home to Him.I bought one of the golden angel pins and I’m going to leave it on my dresser and when I walk by I will think of you and pray for your family. I look forward to hopefully meeting you in Heaven! Cindy

Julian you were a special light that glowed for so many people and your light will continue to Shine. And to your Parents I say God Bless and know that you had a special child that taught special lessons to people. I know he did me the lesson I learned was patience and love for all. So to you my little Soldier I say Fly High and know I love you. AKA Granny Z

Life was so very short for you, Julian, but within those years you taught many people about how to smile when everything was wrong. You were truly God’s Angel sent to help us all and now God needs you there. You will be greatly missed. Prayers for your family and friends, may God wrap His loving arms around you all.

Julian, I never met you but something about you made me fall in love with you.
I prayed for you daily, cried for you and thought of you everyday. My heart is sad that you are no longer physically here however I am happy that you are now in heaven and out of pain. I imagine you have the most beautiful white wings. I imagine you playing, singing and dancing with Jesus. I remember your dad saying you saw Angels at your bedside days before you went home. How beautiful it must of been seeing those Angels waiting for you. Oh sweet Julian, I will miss seeing your beautiful face but I know one day I will get to meet you in heaven. Until then, please watch over all of us and know that I love you very much. Fly high baby boy and enjoy heaven to its fullest ?

Julian was a fighter and was sent here to show us that we need to view things differently!!!
My daughter one day said it in these words
” Mom he isn’t the boy from Oswego with Cancer. He is the boy the god has chosen to prove to the world that even the young can fight the impossible!!’
when she heard that he finally said no more she said ” that was one hell of a fighter His Family should be proud may he fly high and never be forgotten!!
    Rest in peace Julian!1

I never had the pleasure of meeting Julian in person. I found out about Julian through our McHenry Bingo that we have on Fridays in Woodstock , IL . We donate every Friday to help you with expenses for the family. In return we received weekly updates on Julian’s care. Julian was such a fighter he brought courage to so many people. He was a hero !! I’m very grateful for Maryanne to have found your family. It just warmed our hearts to know that she would FaceTime Julian everyday till the end. I’m also glad that you referred another child battleling cancer.. I’m not sure which foundation that Maryanne used it could of been :Wings of an Angel, McHenry Bingo or her sons foundation which is Patsy Ricciardi Carcinoma Memorial Foundation. It was such a pleasure getting to know your family !! Thank you for allowing us in your lives !! Julian will always be in my heart. Hoping you find peace through this difficult time .
    Sincerely
    Cathy Ladas.

Fly high, sweet boy. You are free of the cancer that took you way too young. You have been more of an inspiration to thousands of others in your short life then most people are that live to be old. I know you have seen the face of God and He welcomed you with open arms. My prayer is that God will grant peace and comfort to your family.

To julians family I hope that everyday gets a little easier. Julian has taught us all many things and the most important is to fight no matter what happens to any of us. I know it will not be easy to lay julians body to rest but know as parents that you did everything that Julian would have wanted you to do and you made his dreams come true and braydens.

Julian, you fought a fight,You were winning.I was so confused ,I cried for day’s,I wish you did not go on that trip, but I think you did to make your brother feel special,I wanted to quit, actually, the night before I was begging Jesus to take me instead of you,I am a sharer for all sick children because that is where Jesus guided me,Alot of people do not understand,How close all you children become to me,I cannot quit,I would fail Jesus,I can say this,I know you are in the most incredible Place, because he allowed me to feel what Heaven feel’s like on 2/5/2015,a Peace so pure, indescribable,I pray you will bring peace to us all,You are a true champion like David and Goliath.Just tell Jesus I did my best we al did,it is not a Job,but a Privilege: Just a sharer
