FULTON, NY – (By Dave Medler) – After a week off so families could spend time with and celebrate with their high school graduates, the Fulton Speedway is ready to get back into action as RFH’s Hideaway presents the nights racing highlighted by the Junior Fan Club Bike Giveaway this Saturday.
The bike giveaway is not only highly popular with the kids, but the race teams and speedway staff too, who enjoy giving back to the fans who support them during the racing season.
On the race card Saturday will be the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman, Four Cylinder Stocks and Mod Lites.
The last time the Big Block Modifieds were on the Fulton “High Banks” NAPA Know How Performer Of The Week, Ryan Phelps put on a show. Phelps, without the help of a caution was able to rundown and pass Robbie Bellinger in traffic for the popular win.
The points battle is a tight one in the Big Block Modifeds. Pat Ward leads the standing by a slim 10 point margin over Ryan Phelps. Larry Wight sits 24 back with Tom Sears Jr. and Chad Phelps 30 and 32 behind.
After two and a half years of up’s and downs after moving up from the Mod Lites, Rocco Leone finally got to stand in victory lane for his first ever victory in the SUNY Canton Sportsman. After his win, Leone dedicated his victory to his number one fan and supporter, his dad who joined him in victory lane.
In the points standings, fan favorite Beth Schneider shows the way with a 35 point lead over Ronnie Davis III. Ageless veteran Jim Spano, high school student Tony Finch II and Rocco Leone are third through fifth in the standings.
Rick Miller is on a roll in the NAPA Late Models as he is now two-for-two in the win column. In a season of win streaks the racing has been so close not allowing anyone to run away with a feature event.
Dale Caswell shows the way in the Late Model point standings with a mere 10 point advantage over Rick Miller. Alan Fink is 22 out, Sean Beardsley 34 and AJ Kingsley is fifth in the standings.
Gary Hoppins leads the E&V Energy Novice Sportsman points, with Skip DeGroff showing the way in the Four Cylinder Stocks.
