Last Saturday night, Dale Planck grabbed the big win, his first on the “High Banks” since 2011. Looking at the point standings, the always popular Pat Ward leads the way by 16 points over teammate Larry Wight. Tom Sears Jr. and Ryan Phelps are tied for third only 26 points back, with Pennsylvania’s Dan Vauter fifth in the standings.
High School student Ron Davis III continues show skills beyond his years as he won his second SUNY Canton Sportsman feature of the year. Beth Schneider’s consistent runs from starting deep in the pack has her still leading the points. It just seems like a matter of time before she visits victory lane. Schneider holds a 21 point lead over Davis with another high school student with talent, Tony Finch II only 28 behind. Jim Spano and Kyle Fink are fourth and fifth in the points.
Rick Miller finally made a visit to victory lane last Saturday night in the NAPA Late Models. Miller has been knocking on the door all season long, finally knocking the door open for the popular win. To date this division has the tightest points battle that sees Alan Fink and Dale Caswell deadlocked for first. Rick Miller is only 14 points back, with Sean Beardsley 28 behind.
Despite fighting stomach pain and surgery coming the following Monday, Hilary Ward over came many disappointments on the track winning her first ever E&V Energy Novice Sportsman feature. Gary Hoppins still leads the standings, followed by, Jeremy Dygert, Hilary Ward, Kyle Kiehn and Ricky Yelle.
Chuck Powelczyk made a rare appearance Saturday night in the Four Cylinders Stocks payoff as he took the 15 lap win. The win wasn’t easy as he had to outrun Wendall Washington to the checkers. Skip DeGroff holds a 18 point lead over Mark Johnston followed by Eric Zirbel, 28 points back, with John West and Justin Buske showing fourth and fifth.
