Karen began her career as a temp at Midstate Tel. (ALLTEL Comm.) She was then hired permanently as an operator and had worked her way through various positions; leaving as a Customer Service Supervisor after 34 years to join her husband in retirement. Rauch; step-children, Heidi (Brian) Webb and Gerald (Amy) Rauch II; brother, Robert A. (Judy) Kessler, Jr.; aunt, Carol Smiley; step-grandchildren, Quinn and Gabriel Webb. Karen credits her three year survival to Dr. Mary Jadon Cunningham and her staff, the wonderful care she received at Crouse Hospital and from Oswego County Hospice as well as the unfailing care and support of her husband, family, friends and faith.

Calling hours will 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Parish, corners of Rochester and So. Third Sts., Fulton. Karen was a great colleague at Alltel. She added a lot of class and professionalism to every thing she did and will be missed by all that knew her. I hope the suffering she endured at the end of her life here earned her a higher seat in heaven. May she finally be at peace.
