HANNIBAL, NY – Karen May Farnham, 68, of Hannibal, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday August 4, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Karen was born on May 28, 1947, the daughter of Samuel and Madolyn Sherman and spent most of her life in Hannibal and the Syracuse areas.
Karen graduated valedictorian from Onondaga Community College and Summa Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Oswego, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
Karen was employed by the American Legion Post 1552 for many years and was an active member and treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary.
She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed spending time at the lake with her husband.
She will be greatly missed and forever loved by her husband, William R. Farnham; three daughters, Alicia (Mike) Mooney-Flynt, Robin (Mark) Cuzzupoli and Elizabeth Mooney; two stepchildren, Teri (Jay) Dunsmoor and William J. (Debbie) Farnham; three siblings, Carole (Don) Tyler, Samuel Sherman and Cheryl Calkins; 12 grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m.
