Katintha Myslivecek Named to NJCAA Region III Academic All Region Team

HERKIMER, NY – A record number of Herkimer College student athletes have been named to the NJCAA Region III Academic All Region Team for 2013-14.

Katintha Myslivecek of Redfield, a member of the softball team was one of 27 students to be recognized for achieving a minimum 3.5 grade point average with at least 45 credit hours earned.

Donald Dutcher, Director of Athletics, said “Congratulations to all student athletes named to the Academic All Region Team. We’re proud of the outstanding achievements of our students both on the field and in the classroom.”

Herkimer College is a unit of the State University of New York, located in Herkimer, about 20 miles east of Utica.

With an enrollment of approximately 3,200 students, Herkimer offers more than 40 associate degree and certificate programs, on-campus housing, an active co-curricular activities schedule and a national championship athletic program. Herkimer is a Division III member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and has amassed 52 national championships, 100 Region III titles, 142 Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference championships and 29 National Academic Team of the Year awards. Herkimer is ranked first in the nation among NJCAA non-scholarship athletic programs by winning the 2013-14 National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Cup, based on athletic success in championship competition.
