Kenneth Lyle Pelton, 88, of Rome died Monday, February 15th, at the Rome Hospital.
He was born in Taberg, NY the son of the late Morton and Daisy Pelton. Mr. Pelton was a graduate of Rome Free Academy in 1939. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He was a life member of the Rome Elks Lodge, and a member of the VFW Post #2246.
Mr. Pelton was a volunteer fireman for the Rome Volunteer Fire Dept. He walked and raised funds for the March of Dimes and was a Eucharistic Minister at St. PaulÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Church for many years. Mr. Pelton retired from Griffiss Air Force Base where he worked as an electronic technician.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Susan Pelton of Rome, NY, his sisters: Betty Riegler, Gladys (Fred) Jackson and sister-in-law Kay DeSimone all of Rome, and several nieces and nephews especially Colleen and Michael Dunn of Rome.
Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday at St. PaulÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Church, Rome, NY. Burial will be in St. JohnÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Cemetery, Rome, NY. Calling hours will be conducted 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at Barry Funeral Home, West Chestnut St. Rome, NY.
