King of the Kartway Title Event at Oswego Kartway Friday Night

OSWEGO, NY – After another night of rain last weekend, Oswego Kartway returns to action Friday night with the annual King of the Kartway title event with beautiful trophies on the line from Platinum Promotional.

All 13 of the Kartway’s divisions will be in action Friday, presented by RJ Kart Sales, battling for the right to wear the crown and be called King of the Kartway.

Friday’s action will also mark the first round of the Kartway’s Triple Crown Series, which also includes the August 1 Battle at the Bullring and the August 28 Kartway Classic.

With four championship events in the books for the 2014 season, drivers continue to put themselves in position for a run at the championship in their respective divisions.

Current championship point leaders include Josh Ostrander (Sr. Blue Clone), Joseph Ardizzone (Sr. Green Clone), Seth Perrin (Jr. Blue Clone), Madison Baum (Jr. Purple Clone), Jake Sivers (Stock Light), Eric Raponi (Clone Heavy), Paul Fountaine (Stock 425 & Clone 425), Nate Schultzkie (Clone Light), Nick Demling (BSP Clone), Chad Jacobson (Champ), and Alan Lane (Open).

Pit gates will open for competitors on July 11 beginning at 4:30 p.m. with a driver’s meeting at 6:30 p.m. and hot laps at 6:45 p.m.

The night’s first heat race will go green at 7:30 p.m.

Racing will again be lined up utilizing the Kartway’s handicap system, which will be based on full year handicap for the King of the Kartway.  Time trials will not be run.

Kartway member entry fees will be $20 with non-member entries set at $23.

Non-competitor pit passes are $15.

Those with raincheck wristbands from July 4 will be able to use those bands on July 11, but will have to pay an additional $5 to make up for the increase in entry and pit pass pricing for this week’s event.

You must bring your wristband to the pit window in order to receive your rain check from July 11.  There are no exceptions.

Transponders will be required in order to be scored. Those who do not have their own transponder can rent one from the Kartway for $10.

Spectator admission is just $5 per car load.

Kartway events run May through September on most Friday nights, culminating with the Fall Frenzy 200 Championships on September 20.
