Kingsley Joins Team Tapout for 2014 SBS Campaign at Oswego Speedway

OSWEGO, NY – Team Tapout announced Wednesday the addition of a third Hedger Fabrication Chassis to its stable in 2014 with former Mr. Pathfinder Bank SBS champion Barry Kingsley at the controls.

Oswego Speedway’s Car Owner of the Year in 2013, Jason Simmons recently acquired the No. 19 Hedger Chassis fielded in 2013 by Nathan and Andy Noto and previously by five-time Speedway champion Russ Brown under Ray Pike’s ownership.

Barry Kingsley concluded the 2012 season at Oswego Speedway driving the Team Tapout No. 91. The former Mr. Pathfinder Bank SBS champion will return to the team full-time in 2014. (Evan Canfield)

Simmons will continue to field his own No. 98 entry as well as the JJ Andrews No. 93 machine, which both finished in the top five in championship points in 2013, with the addition of Kingsley as the third full-time member of Team Tapout in 2014.

Since 2012 Team Tapout has accumulated three feature wins, including Simmons’ first career victory coming in May of last year in the Tony White Memorial.

Kingsley will bring two career features wins of his own to the fold in 2014, including the 2011 Mr. Pathfinder Bank SBS championship.

A former Supermodified crew chief, Kingsley has competed in the Pathfinder Bank SBS division as an owner/driver since 2006, while also driving part-time for Team Tapout at the conclusion of the 2012 season with a fine fourth place finish in the season ending Fall Championship.

Without a full-time ride in 2013, Kingsley was a member of the dedicated Team Tapout race day crew and eventually found himself back behind the wheel come Budweiser International Classic Weekend as the driver of the Teddneck Racing No. 37.

Kingsley qualified the machine for the Bud Light SBS Classic, but mechanical issues during warm-up laps sidelined the team before taking the green flag.

According to team sources, fans can expect to see all three Team Tapout racing machines at the annual Gater Racing News Motorsports Expo in March at the New York State Fairgrounds as a part of the Oswego Speedway booth.
