Kohrs Jumper Gives Oswego State Women’s Basketball 45-43 Win Over New Paltz

Rachel Kohrs (Sr., New Lebanon, N.Y.) hit the game-winning shot with 10.6 seconds remaining to give the Oswego State women’s basketball team a 45-43 victory against New Paltz on Tuesday night at Max Ziel Gymnasium. Kohrs drained a pull-up jumper from the left elbow, as the Lakers pushed their current winning streak to five games. Junior Colleen McCready (Pittsford, N.Y.) led all scorers with 12 points to go along with nine rebounds. The game, which marked the end of the first half of the SUNYAC schedule, pushed Oswego State to 9-7 overall and 6-3 in the league, while the Hawks dropped to 9-7 overall and 6-3 in the conference.

The Lakers start a four-game road trip on Friday when they take on Geneseo at 6 p.m. New Paltz will travel to Potsdam on Friday for a 6 p.m. tip-off.
