LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM


NORTHERN CAYUGA and OSWEGO COUNTIES  – INCLUDING THE CITIES OF FAIR HAVEN and OSWEGO

LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM TODAY.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO HAS ISSUED A LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY, WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM TODAY.

LOCATIONS: NORTHERN CAYUGA AND OSWEGO COUNTIES.

TIMING: THROUGH EARLY THIS AFTERNOON.

ACCUMULATIONS: AN ADDITIONAL 2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW TODAY, LEADING TO STORM TOTALS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES.

WINDS: NORTH 5 TO 10 MPH.

VISIBILITIES: UNDER A HALF MILE AT TIMES.

TEMPERATURES: IN THE MID 20S THROUGH 7 AM. HIGHS IN THE MID 30S TODAY.

IMPACTS: LOCALIZED BANDS OF SNOW WILL PRODUCE SLICK AND  DIFFICULT TRAVEL CONDITIONS AT TIMES.

IN LAKE EFFECT SNOW THE WEATHER CAN VARY FROM LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW IN NARROW BANDS TO CLEAR SKIES JUST A FEW MILES AWAY.

IF YOU WILL BE TRAVELING ACROSS THE REGION BE PREPARED FOR RAPID CHANGES IN ROAD AND VISIBILITY CONDITIONS.
