LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING

LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 THIS MORNING TO
4 AM FRIDAY.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO HAS ISSUED A LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING, WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 THIS MORNING TO 4 AM FRIDAY.

THE LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

LOCATIONS: WAYNE, NORTHERN CAYUGA AND OSWEGO COUNTIES WITH THE GREATEST SNOW AMOUNTS EXPECTED FROM NORTHEASTERN WAYNE COUNTY ACROSS NORTHERN CAYUGA AND SOUTHERN OSWEGO COUNTIES.

TIMING: .FROM LATE THIS MORNING THROUGH LATE THURSDAY NIGHT.

ACCUMULATIONS: 1 TO 3 INCHES TODAY.
3 TO 5 INCHES TONIGHT.
3 TO 5 INCHES THURSDAY.
AND 4 TO 8 INCHES THURSDAY NIGHT.

LEADING TO STORM TOTALS OF 10 TO 20 INCHES IN THE MOST PERSISTENT LAKE SNOWS.

WINDS: WEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH.

VISIBILITIES: AS LOW AS A QUARTER MILE AT TIMES.

IMPACTS: LAKE EFFECT SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW WILL RESULT IN VERY DIFFICULT TRAVEL AT TIMES WITH SNOW-COVERED ROADS AND GREATLY REDUCED VISIBILITIES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS:  IN LAKE EFFECT SNOW THE WEATHER CAN VARY FROM LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW IN NARROW BANDS TO CLEAR SKIES JUST A FEW MILES AWAY.

IF YOU WILL BE TRAVELING ACROSS THE REGION BE PREPARED FOR RAPID CHANGES IN ROAD AND VISIBILITY CONDITIONS.
