WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
LATE MONDAY NIGHT.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE MONDAY NIGHT.

THE LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH 7 AM SATURDAY.

LOCATIONS: EASTERN LAKE ONTARIO REGION.

TIMING: THE LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING IS IN EFFECT THROUGH EARLY
SATURDAY MORNING.

THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TIME SUNDAY THROUGH OVERNIGHT MONDAY NIGHT.

HAZARDS: HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW THROUGH EARLY SATURDAY MORNING.

ADDITIONAL AND MORE WIDESPREAD SNOW SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT.

ACCUMULATIONS: ADDITIONAL 4 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW THROUGH EARLY
SATURDAY MORNING LEADING TO STORM TOTALS OF 7 TO 14 INCHES.

SNOW POTENTIALLY ACCUMULATING MORE THAN ONE FOOT IN THE WINTER STORM WATCH.

WINDS: WEST 5 TO 15 MPH WITHIN THE LAKE EFFECT SNOW. THEN WINDS
NORTHEAST 10 TO 20 MPH BECOMING NORTH WITHIN THE WATCH.

VISIBILITIES: AS LOW AS A QUARTER MILE AT TIMES.

IMPACTS: LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL BRING SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY
CONDITIONS ON ROADS.

TRAVEL WILL BECOME VERY DIFFICULT THROUGH THE BAND OF HEAVY SNOW.

ADDITIONAL SNOW SUNDAY THROUGH MONDAY  NIGHT WILL BRING DEEP SNOW COVERED ROADS THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY DIFFICULT AGAIN.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS:

IN LAKE EFFECT SNOW THE WEATHER CAN VARY FROM LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW IN NARROW BANDS TO CLEAR SKIES JUST A FEW MILES AWAY.

IF YOU WILL BE TRAVELING ACROSS THE REGION BE PREPARED FOR RAPID CHANGES IN ROAD AND VISIBILITY CONDITIONS.

IF YOU LOSE POWER AND PLAN ON RUNNING A GENERATOR, MAKE SURE
THAT THE GENERATOR IS LOCATED OUTDOORS AND IS PROPERLY VENTILATED.

SPACE HEATERS SHOULD ALSO BE PROPERLY VENTILATED AND USED ONLY IF THEY ARE OPERATING PROPERLY.

MAKE SURE SNOW DOES NOT BLOCK EXHAUSTS AND FRESH AIR INTAKES FOR HIGH EFFICIENCY FURNACES AND WATER HEATERS.

A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THAT HEAVY SNOW AND/OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE.
