CANTON, N.Y. – The Oswego State men’s golf team took fifth place after posting a squad score of 313 at the 12-team St. Lawrence Invitational on Sunday.
Dustin Farley (Jr., Utica, N.Y.) turned in a 35 on the back nine to lead the Lakers with a round of 77 to tie for 13th individually.
The competition was originally slated for two rounds, but weather forced the cancellation of the first round on Saturday.
Host St. Lawrence won the meet with a team score of 298, while Saint Jack Whelan fired a 69 on the par-72 course.
Kyle Brockmann (So., Fairport, N.Y.) and John Mackie (Jr., Bellport, N.Y.) were right behind Farley with scores of 78 to tie for 21st place overall. Nick Sterling (Sr., Gouverneur, N.Y.) shot a round of 80 followed by Tyler Wurzer (Huntington Station, N.Y.), who carded an 82.
The Lakers will compete at the Keuka Fall Invitational on Thursday.
