Laker Hockey Squad Heads Out For Lake Placid

The Oswego State men’s ice hockey team left for Lake Placid today as it continues to prepare for Friday’s NCAA Division III Men’s Hockey Championship semifinal against Amherst College.

Friday’s game will be at 7:30 p.m. at Herb Brooks Arena.

Oswego State advanced to this year’s semifinal with a 5-0 win over Elmira at home on March 10.

Amherst advanced by defeating Plattsburg, 3-1, in Amherst, Mass.

The third-ranked Lakers enter the weekend with an overall record of 23-3-2 compared to a record of 24-3-1 for the Lord Jeffss.

The winner of the Oswego State/Amherst semifinal will play the winner of the Norwich/St. Norbert semifinal on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the national championship game.

WNYO 88.9 FM will be providing a live radio feed for the contest.

The WNYO feed will also be aired over Local Channel 96.

Turner Sports will be broadcasting the game via webcast.
