Laker men’s, women’s outdoor track and field teams fare well in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Oswego State men’s outdoor track and field team placed eighth out of 13 teams with 51 points and the women’s squad finished 11th out of 14 teams with 19 points on Saturday at the University of Rochester Alumni Invitational.

St. Lawrence won both team titles, as the men scored 148 points and the women scored 147 points.

Katie Bott (Jr., Camillus, N.Y.) was edged out in the 400-meter dash to take second place with a time of 59.16 seconds. Emily Wild (Jr., Victor, N.Y.) cleared a height of 1.44m in the high jump for a sixth-place showing.

Andrew Baldwin (Jr., Fulton, N.Y.) clocked a time of 51.19 seconds in the 400-meter dash, which was good for third. Matt Wagenhauser (So., Greenlawn, N.Y.) took fourth in the 200-meter dash with a SUNYAC-qualifying time of 23.02. Damian Archie (Jr., Binghamton, N.Y.) placed fifth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:45.20. Ben Sweet (Sr., Pine Bush, N.Y.) crossed the finish line seventh in the 800-meter run (1:58.91), while Ryan Brennan (Jr., Syracuse, N.Y.) contributed to the Laker point total with an eighth-place finish in the 400 hurdles (59.56).

In the field events, Chris Bridgewater (So., Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Joshuwa Maiolo (So., Rome, N.Y.) finished third and sixth, respectively, in the triple jump with leaps of 12.97m and 12.32m. Frank Risole III (Gr., Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) placed third in the javelin throw with a toss of 44.59m and fifth in the hammer throw with a distance of 42.64m. Mallory Eckert (Jr., Edmeston, N.Y.) took seventh in the javelin throw and eighth in the discus with distances of 28.06m and 27.80m, respectively.

The 4×400 women’s relay consisting of Marissa Pariseau (So., Somerset, Mass.), Bott, Kristen Harrigan (So., Buffalo, N.Y.) and Brittany DalCais (So., Hewitt, N.J.). took fourth with a time of 4:05.86. The 4×400 men’s relay comprised of Nick Reinsdorf (So., Niverville, N.Y.), Brennan, Wagenhauser and Baldwin placed fifth with a time of 3:27.29.

Next weekend Oswego State will participate in the Coach P Open hosted by Moravian.
