This past weekend, the Lakers 19U Girls Hockey team ended its season at the USA Hockey Tier II Final Four in Burlington, Vermont.
Following up its New York State Championship, the team, based out of Skaneateles, and comprised of least one player from each Section III Girls Hockey School, including Whitney Daino of Oswego and Christina Ravesi from Fulton, proved to be one of the best in the country.
The Lakers finished its first National Tournament with a 3-2 record highlighted by a 4-3 shootout victory over the eventual national champion Vermont Shamrocks.
Both losses came to National runner-up Connecticut Northern Lights.
The Lakers put USA Hockey on notice that many of its most talented players play right here in Central New York.
