OSWEGO, NY – Lakeside Artisans, 191 W. First St., is hosting a series of demonstrations by local artisans on Thursdays, from 5 to 7 p.m., during the Oswego Farmers’ Market.
Kicking off the month of August is a demonstration by Diane Chepko-Sade, on August 6, of her colorful fused glass pieces.
Starting with blank pieces of glass in a variety of shapes, Chepko-Sade decorates them with small glass shapes, and glues the shapes in place.
The pieces are then fused in the kiln overnight.
On August 13, Cindy Schmidt will demo her unique Cranky Cat Collection of acrylic paintings.
Schmidt uses her very own felines for inspiration.
Kathy Fenlon, a fabric artist known for her one-of-a-kind bags and purses, will be available to discuss her designs and take orders from patrons, on August 20.
She will have a variety of fabrics and bag styles to show visitors.
Rounding out the month, on August 27, Sandy Clift, the Lakeside Artisans’ Artist of the Month, will bring her artistic vision to the shop with a demo of her methods and creative inspiration for her mixed media pieces.
Clift combines printed materials, watercolor and a wide variety of media to create her artwork.
