Lakeside Artisans Relocates – A Little Bit

OSWEGO, NY – Opening its doors in March of this year after winning the Next Great Idea Business Plan Competition, Lakeside Artisans, located in Canal Commons, has moved forward and taken over the space formally occupied by Mr. John’s Flowers.

“We moved the entire contents of the store 30 feet over in about two days. It was quite an undertaking.” said Michele Southgate, one of the co-op members.

“The primary reason for the move”, according to Lakeside Artisans’ president and business manager, Tim Ames,”is to increase the co-op’s visibility to the community.”

Lakeside Artisans offers quality handcrafted items by local artists, including original paintings, ceramics, jewelry, printmaking and other fine arts and crafts.

The move to a more accessible exterior space also provides the co-op with the opportunity to expand its offerings of art supplies.

New papers, brushes, canvas boards, painting and drawing items have been added for the budding Picasso as well as the experienced artist.

Lakeside Artisans is open seven days a week, Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday to 7 p.m. during the farmers’ market and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
