Club Lanigan is open to all Lanigan Elementary School students and is always accepting new members.
Inclusion of, and kindness to, all from Singer/Songwriter Jared Campbell recently inspired students to be self-confident.
Campbell performed for all Lanigan students, but his presentation for kindergarteners through second graders was tailored to friendship.
Students learned Campbell’s top three ways to make new friends: find someone who is excited to see you, know that person will always be by your side and stick with people who love you for you.
Club Lanigan, he said, is a great way to make friends and feel accepted.
Students agreed that their peers, teachers and Principal Jeff Hendrickson were invited to join the group.
There was only one rule: no bullies allowed.
Campbell’s original songs, “Love Like a Dog” and “The Superhero Song” were big hits, as students clapped and sang along.
The performance helped reinforce Lanigan’s Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports initiative of being responsible, safe and a problem-solver.
Campbell, Principal Hendrickson, teachers and students ended the presentation with a dance party.
