OSWEGO – Lawrence G. Wright passed away on Friday December 16, 2016, at the Morningstar Care Center after a long illness.
He was 87.
Larry was born in Oswego and was the son of the late Lawrence and Edna (Yott) Wright.
He graduated from Oswego schools.
He had also attended the State University of New York at Oswego.
Mr. Wright was a veteran of the Army National Guard.
He was in the automobile business all of his adult life.
He worked selling new and used cars for Tucker Oldsmobile and Jack Reynolds Chevrolet.
He eventually opened his own business Lake City Auto Sales and then Auto Consignment Sales.
He was very fond of riding horses and loved his many cats and dogs through the years.
He was predeceased by his three sons, Larry, Kevin and Matthew Wright; and two sisters, Barbara Harrington and Janice Salmonsen.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Laurie Wright of California; granddaughters, Amber and Lauren; and grandsons, Andrew and Christopher all of Texas.
He is also survived by his long-time companion, Virginia Westcott; his beloved dog, Harley; nieces, Melanie Harrington and Lisa Salmonsen; nephew, Tommy Salmonsen; grandnephews, Ricky, Christopher and Cody and grandnieces, Caylyn and Tia.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December, 28, from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Dowdle Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow the hour.
