Concerns Raised over Oswego Water Testing

OSWEGO – Phil Myer spoke at the meeting concerning a letter he received. He said the letter was about water testing for $150. Myer contends that areas that require testing are technically city property and should be the city’s responsibility. Myer says that it’s important to test for lead in the pipes, but that it seems unfair to expect elderly people on fixed incomes to be expected to pay an unexpected expense during the holidays.

The Restore NY grant will allow the redevelopment of the Oswego Freight House into a brewery and restaurant. The city hopes that the brewery will enhance the aesthetic and cultural value of Utica St neighbor. They hope that the brewery will attract residents and create jobs.

• Resolution 353 – Authorize Mayor to execute and all documents regarding the submission of a RestoreNY Grant for the Oswego Freight House Rehabilitation Project
• Resolution 354 – Accept Donation of Materials and Supplies valued at $2,513.60 from Lowe’s Home Center, LLC
• Resolution 355 – Accept Grant Award in the amount of $50,000 from New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services to fund the Police Department’s Embedded Mental Health Clinician Program
• Authorize City Chamberlain to complete a Budget Amendment to the Central Printing and Mailing Account in the amount of $20,000 for postage
